The First Step In Making Money Online

The first step in making money online is understanding your current mindset.
I know, it sounds cliché.
But it’s the truth.
I can classify mindsets into three groups:
1) Worker’s mindset
2) Opportunist’s mindset
3) Business mindset

1) Worker’s Mindset
This group of people usually thinks of money in terms of time.
When it comes to making money, they often consider how they can trade time for money.
Regarding investing, they seek guaranteed returns and are risk-averse.
2) Opportunist’s Mindset
Opportunists are keen to exploit opportunities as they arise.
When it comes to making money and investing, they are willing to take chances, but they are usually short-term focused. They are also not willing to take up long term commitment.
3) Business Mindset
People with a business mindset focus on building value.
When it comes to making money, they understand that money is an exchange of values.
Regarding investing, they are willing to take risks as long as the investment aligns with their long-term goals.
The Journey
Most of us start with a worker’s mindset.
As we view ads and learn more about internet marketing, some transition into an opportunist’s mindset.
A few eventually become comfortable with the workings of internet marketing and decide to build a business.
Regardless of your current mindset, Affiliate Marketing has something for you.
There are many ways to make money in Affiliate Marketing, from simply blogging and adding value (which only requires time) to building a full-fledged business (I use and recommend the All-in-One newbie friendly automated (SAAS) system called Affiliate Systems or AS for short)
That said, more on how to get your hands on Affiliate Systems coming soon.
Where was I . . . Which Mindset Is Better?
If happiness is a measure of success, then there is no right or wrong mindset. Different mindsets come with different challenges and responsibilities.
But if you want to realize the potential for making significant money, a business mindset is the one you need.

    Hi James,
I think we all start out with the workers mindset when we start our careers and a lot of us don’t aspire to get out of our comfort zone and change to a better career path soon enough.
Some people stay in the same career for decades without trying something new.
So you definitely need a better business mindset to become an affiliate marketer.

  2. James, understanding your mindset is indeed crucial for success. Whether you’re in a worker’s, opportunist’s, or business mindset, each has its own path and challenges. While there’s no right or wrong, a business mindset seems to offer the most potential for significant earnings. Thanks for breaking it down. Atif

  3. I like how you explained each mindset and related it to us. I think we have all started out with the worker mindset, but it is up to us to choose whether we will have the opportunist or business mindset. I liked your transition to the AS and cliffhanger. I feel the business mindset is the best to have since it is not about getting rich quick.

It’s true that most of us start with a worker’s mindset, but it’s inspiring to see that with time and knowledge, we can transition into a business mindset.

I love that you mentioned Affiliate Marketing truly does have something for everyone, whether you’re just starting out with blogging or looking to build a full-fledged business.

Thank you for the encouraging words and for reminding us that there is no right or wrong mindset when it comes to making money online. It’s all about finding what works best for you and your goals. Here’s to embracing a business mindset and reaching our full potential!

  5. Hi James,
An interesting breakdown of the different mindsets. I think I should aspire to the business one. Not sure where I am right now.
By the way, I entered my name and email address and clicked on your Email Insights Subscribe button. Sorry to say but the email went straight into my spam folder. Was there supposed to be a double-optin involved?

  6. Mindsets revisions are a must for an entrepreneur. Every moment of everyday is an opportunity to change perspective to higher and higher realms of consciousness- a life long journey
